Temuera Morrison MNZM, (born 26 December 1960), is a New Zealand actor who initially became well-known in his native New Zealand for playing Dr. Hone Ropata on the soap opera Shortland Street. He garnered critical acclaim for starring as Jake The Muss Heke in the 1994 film Once Were Warriors and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. Outside of New Zealand, Morrison is best known for his work in the Star Wars multimedia franchise, where he portrayed Jango Fett and his genetic clones, such as the clone troopers and Boba Fett. He debuted as Jango Fett in the 2002 Star Wars movie Attack of the Clones. He voiced Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back (2004 re-release) and video games, and later starred as Boba in The Mandalorian (2019–present) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022). In 2022, Morrison appeared in a recurring role on Echo 3, a black ops thriller series. He provided the voice for Chief Tui, Moana's father, in the Disney film Moana (2016), and for his role as Tom Curry, father of Arthur Curry, in Aquaman (2018), The Flash (2023), and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). Early life Born in Rotorua on 26 December 1960, Morrison hails from the North Island of New Zealand. Hana Morrison (née Stafford) and Laurie Morrison, a musician, are his parents. Morrison's heritage includes Māori whakapapa of Te Arawa (Ngāti Whakaue) and Tainui (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Rarua), along with Scottish and Irish ancestry. Taini Morrison, his sister, was a performer, and his uncle, Sir Howard Morrison, was a musician. Morrison completed his secondary schooling at Wesley College (Auckland) and Western Heights High School (Rotorua).
